What’s the inspiration behind your new look/haircut?
The inspiration for cutting my hair actually came from music, which might sound odd. One day, I woke up feeling the need to cut my hair, coinciding with my move to a new location. The salon where I usually got my hair cut was now too far, and the transportation cost was higher. That day, I was scheduled for a recording session and couldn't afford the long journey. So, I walked into the nearest salon and asked them to shave it all off. I figured, 'If they can't cut my hair well, at least they can cut skin' — after all, everyone can do that. That's the peculiar reason behind my decision. Well, it looked good on me. Nobody go tell me anything!
What’s your creative process in making music?
Honestly, I don't have a specific method for making music; I generally go with the flow. For me, it's better not to write anything down or overthink the music until I'm in front of the microphone, ready to record. Over-analyzing can sap the energy and mood that I aim to capture while recording. Writing and overthinking ahead of time often dampens the vibe for me. I prefer to record in the moment, embracing the song's vibe and mood – I hope that makes sense. This year, I'm focusing more on honing my writing and making my verses clearer, adding an extra layer of intentionality. However, I still wait until I'm in front of the mic to dive deep into my thoughts, as I don’t want to lose the vibe with excessive pondering beforehand. I believe that every beat has its own mood, and you need to be in sync with it to truly do it justice. I’m not a freestyler though 😎
What’s your inspiration behind “Taking Over”?
Personally, I consider myself a living, walking prophecy. I've witnessed prophecies come to fruition in my life, and I firmly believe that a person's life-path is shaped by their beliefs. This year, I'm confident that I'll make significant impact in the music industry, and in several other areas, by God's grace. The song I created, reflects my reality. It's crafted for myself and for those who are determined to embrace prophecy, actively working towards its fulfillment. That’s the idea and birth of “Taking Over”.
